The Land Of Rugby League.
Again it was another sunny day. I was a bit slower getting ready today, it was about 10.00am when I was ready to leave.
Something to do with watching the Grand Prix.
The plan was the same as yesterday, continue down the A6 through Lancaster onto Preston. At Preston, I would have to make a
decision in which direction to go. Either continue down the A6, or switch to the A49.
Just as I was about to leave Jon Walker rang, and told me he was coming up on his (motor)bike and we arranged to meet in
Lancaster. The cycle to Lancaster was very straight forward. For the first time, the ground was flat, and the A6 was quiet.
I came across a motorbike rally, there must have been a 100 bikes sat at a set of traffic lights, by the time I got my camera
out most of them had gone!!
I met Jon in Lancaster, and we found a little cafe by the canal. The weather was really good so we had a full Sunday lunch,
and watched the canal boats go by.
I finally said goodbye to Jon at about 3.30pm, and carried onto toward Preston. I had set myself a target of 45 to 50 miles
for the day, but when I came across an Ibis hotel, just at the city limits, I knew I was done for the day. I checked in, and
got on with the usual jobs of showering and washing the clothes.
The Ibis had central heating and so I would soon get everything dry. Again I had an early night.
Tommorow I thought I would push onto Whitchurch. This is 60 miles!!
